An area has been intentionally kept uncultivated, within the garden premises of Diffl oo Tea Estate for the specific purpose of facilitating elephant and other wildlife migration between Kaziranga and Karbi Anglong. Together with Balipara Foundation, a dossier is being prepared of all the plant, animal and bird species found in here.

The primary objective of this joint project is to assess the migratory routes of elephants and identify appropriate conservation measures that can facilitate elephant and other wildlife movement between Kaziranga and Karbi Anglong Hills.
This programme was an initiative started by Tata Tea Limited in 1990, with technical assistance from Assam Agriculture University, Jorhat & Block Extension Officers of different districts. The intention behind launching this initiative was to aid villagers and local communities living adjacent to our tea estates with means of income supplementation.
