Menstrual Hygiene Programme

Indian Tea Association (ITA) has sponsored the setup of two sanitary napkin machines at Namroop and Borjan Tea Estates. Two groups of women have been trained to produce sanitary napkins. Quality sanitary napkins at affordable costs have been distributed among the women of the gardens along with menstrual hygiene awareness campaigns.

Building Partnership with Barefoot College International

With the prospect of collaborating in the domain of women empowerment APPL Foundation and APPL is collaborating with Barefoot College International. Representatives from Barefoot visited Hathikuli Tea Estate. They interacted with the workers, mothers and adolescent group members and the community in general to identify areas of intervention.

A SPECIAL MEDICAL CAMP IN COLLABORATION WITH RCFC

A medical camp for early identification of children with orthopedic disability and cerebral palsy was organized at Damdim Tea Estate in Dooars, West Bengal. Children from the Tea Estates of Damdim, Rungamutte and neighboring villages benefited from the screening programme.

Indian Chambers of Commerce (ICC) conducted a novel initiative of bringing together Corporates and Non-Government Organizations (NGO) who are committed to create an impact through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes. The Social Impact Awards selected over 40 Corporates and NGO’s to share innovative programmes being implemented in 10 different categories.
