Capacity Building Programme

A 2-day ‘teach the teacher’ programme for the trainers of Adult Learning Programme was conducted at APPL Office on 26th and 27th October 2018. The training was done by Dr. Bibhashchandra Das Purkayastha, an accomplished educator and currently the District Chair of TEACH (Rotary International District 3240). Keeping in mind the learning levels of the adult population of Tea Estates, we have also specially designed primers with the aim to impart functional literacy amongst the people.

BE A VOLUNTEER! – ORIENATION PROGRAMME CONDCUTED BY APPL FOUNDATION

APPL Foundation has always believed that partnership is key to holistic community development. Be it with institutions or individuals, we have linked our partners to the areas of our commitment. Visit to Digital Literacy Centre

The Digital Literacy Centre (DLC) at Lattakoojan was established in partnership with NRL in 2014. Since then the centre which is run in association with IRDIS has trained and created employment opportunities for several youth of the locality.

OCHIAI Tea Harvester Training program-Rowta from 3rd September - 8th September 2018

A Tea Harvester Training program for OCHIAI Harvesters was organized at APPITI Rowta with faculty support from OCHIAI from 3rd to 8th September 2018. The basic thought process behind this residential training programme was to run short term training on green leaf harvester’s maintenance, overhauling and refurbishing of different harvesters to generate a resource pool which in turn support the Small Tea Growers (STG) in terms of offering service.

Assam Investment Fund Donates Girls’ hostel to Amalgamated Plantations Private Industrial Training Institute (APPITI), Rowta

TANGLA, July 23: In a bid to provide accommodation facilities to girl students, a 100-bedded girls’ hostel of the Amalgamated Plantations Private Industrial Training Institute (APPITI) was inaugurated at Rowta in Udalguri recently. The hostel has been donated by the Assam Investment Fund and constructed within a record time of eight months since the laying of its foundation stone in November, 2017. A digital classroom under CSR programme for school and college students of the neighborhood was also inaugurated by Mazbat MLA Charan Boro.

The hostel has been donated by the Assam Investment Fund and constructed within a record time of 8-months since the laying of its foundation stone in November 2017.

Meeting with Labour Minister

On 16th July 2018, APPL-F met the Hon’ble Labour Minister of Assam, Shri Pallab Lochan Das and acknowledged their support for Sirish. The Tea Community is the backbone of the Tea industry and has contributed to the economy and culture of Assam. We conceptualized this annual cultural festival ‘Sirish’ to showcase the rich cultural diversity of the Tea Tribe community. This festival promotes Sustainable Development Goal 16-‘Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development.’

The Amalgamated Plantations Private Industrial Training Institute (APPITI) inaugurated a 100-seater Girls Hostel today at Rowta, in Udalguri District of Assam. The hostel has been donated by the Assam Investment Fund and constructed within a record time of 8-months since the laying of its foundation stone in November 2017. A Digital Learning Classroom under CSR programme for school and college going students of the neighborhood was also inaugurated by ShriCharanBoro (MLA, Majbat).
