Women constitute more than 50% of a tea estate population in Assam. Women busy working in the estates and house tend to ignore their own health. Although various programmes have been introduced by the government, only a few are aware of, and access these programmes. One of the hidden health issues of women in tea estates is the Fungal infection.

Active Case Finding Project for TB, a programme sponsored by HP Enterprise and to be implemented by APPL Foundation at the Tea Estates of APPL was launched at an event organized at Kellyden Tea Estate on 16 th January 2020. The programme will be implemented at the Estates of Kellyden, Namroop, Powai and Hathikuli from February 2020.

APPL Foundation and Hewlett Packard (India) Software Operation Private Limited (HPISO) have signed an MoU to upgrade the eHealthcare units at Damdim (West Bengal), Powai, Namroop, Kellyden, Hathikuli and facilitate TB screening. The programme visions to screen 15000 probable patients and link them towards curative procedures.
