A 2-day ‘teach the teacher’ programme for the trainers of Adult Learning Programme was conducted at APPL Office on 26th and 27th October 2018. The training was done by Dr. Bibhashchandra Das Purkayastha, an accomplished educator and currently the District Chair of TEACH (Rotary International District 3240). Keeping in mind the learning levels of the adult population of Tea Estates, we have also specially designed primers with the aim to impart functional literacy amongst the people.
With the modified version of ALP in place, we now hope to further our ambition of reaching a 100% literate Tea Garden population.
